Unfortunately for Steve, I didn't realize my memory card was gone until the night before Lucy's first day of school. Now obviously if there was ever a day when you wanted a good camera (and not just the grainy iPhone shot) this is it. So my darling husband came home from work at 7 pm and then immediately turned back around and went to the Target that is located approximately 1 mile from where he works. Special shout out to you, Steve!
With a fully functional camera, I was finally able to go to sleep - although I was continually asking myself, "Seriously? I have a kid in Pre K? When did that happen?" I suppose I will have a lot more of those "When did that happen?" moments as the girls get older. Sigh.
Lucy awoke at 6 am with a lot of energy. She was insane. She immediately wanted to get into her uniform and then spent the following hour before we had to leave just running laps around our house. Breakfast was nearly impossible, and it took us quite a while to get out the door and wrangle everyone into the car.

Before we left, we had an impromptu photo shoot:

When we arrived in the parking lot, Lucy was fine. She said hello to a friend who was also arriving and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Once we got into the door, however, Lucy turned into a noodle. She actually laid on the floor. Apparently laying down is her go-to defense mechanism (see An Exercise in Patience). Unfortunately for Lucy, Mom and Dad both needed to head to work and we were not too interested in gently coaxing her to get up off the floor. Thankfully she resumed an upright position and then went to color with another friend who had arrived.
Here is the photo op right before "Noodle Status" was reached inside:
Overall the day was a success. She is home now and seemed to have a great time. Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow is as smooth.
